Founded in 1985 in Stevensville, Maryland, USA, PRS Guitars (named after its founder, luthier Paul Reed Smith), immediately took up the challenge of designing and producing guitars that meet the challenge of offering instruments with uncompromising sound versatility, exceptional playing comfort, and the highest level of beauty and craftsmanship. With models like the McCarty and the Custom 24, PRS Guitars has made a sensational debut in the world of guitar, dominating today by marrying the qualities of the Stratocaster (vibrato, crystal clear sound, soft bass, comfort of the game) and the Les Paul (creamy crunch, mediums affirmed, endless sustain and luxurious finishes), adding a character of its own.

The SE (Student Edition) line at PRS consists of guitars assembled in Korea, with quality control at the main factory in Maryland, USA. By reducing production costs without compromising on quality, the result is more affordable guitars with the highest quality workmanship.

From the mahogany body and neck to the superb maple top and patented PRS Tremolo, the PRS SE DGT David Grissom SIgnature is an incredible instrument. To give you an idea of what's involved, David Grissom has played with and for John Mellencamp, The Allman Brothers Band, The Dixie Chicks, Chris Isaak and Robben Ford. He worked with the brand for over 20 years to perfect his signature instrument. In addition to custom-designed humbuckers with vintage voicing, the PRS SE DGT also features simplified controls, higher frets and the David Grissom Tremolo. In essence, the PRS SE DGT is a hot-rodded PRS McCarty with custom modifications for the guitarist, increasing playing comfort, reliability, and accentuating the tone's vintage grain.
