The Vintage clarinet was developed and perfected by René Lesieux in 1996. René Lesieux was a master instrument maker with Buffet Crampon for more than 40 years. The Vintage, as its name implies, brings to mind the influences and colors of the 1950s.
It is however unanimously appreciated for its fluid and focused tone, and its homogeneity and ease of response. The Vintage has a specific bore that provides unrivalled suppleness and remarkable accuracy in all registers, coupled with a particularly warm sound. The bodies are of premium grenadilla, polished and waxed. The bore design is reminiscent of the 50's R13 sporting an upgraded Prestige-like keywork with blended (Goretex and cork) pads. Another unique feature is the raised C#/ G# tone hole.
