Founded in 1890 in Battle Creek, Michigan, USA, Squier was acquired in 1965 by Fender as the brand under which it offers more affordable versions, made in Asia, of its guitar models, including a few amps. Squiers are currently good quality instruments, addressed to beginners and to those looking for a backup for their gear, or wish to explore new tonal possibilities without too important a financial commitment.
With classic styling, strong tone, and solid build quality, the Classic Vibe ’70s P Bass is a versatile, no-nonsense instrument that lives up to its name. It’s a straightforward, reliable, and great-sounding instrument suited for all levels of players.
The body is made of nato (sometimes referred to as nyatoh), with a gloss polyurethane finish and the familiar Precision Bass contours. The bolt-on maple neck has a comfortable “C” profile and vintage-tinted gloss finish. The bound maple fingerboard has a 9.5" radius and features black block inlays and black binding for a striking '70s look.
The instrument delivers classic feel and stable tuning. The Fender-designed alnico split-coil pickup delivers powerful, punchy tone with deep lows and strong mids, suitable for everything from rock to funk and soul. The passive electronics include master volume and tone controls for simple, effective operation.
