The Martin DC-X2E Brazilian 12-String is a 12-string Dreadnought. Its large body provides depth and projection, while the doubled strings add the brightness and natural chorus effect typical of a 12-string guitar. It is a versatile instrument, particularly well suited to open chords, arpeggios and folk, rock or pop accompaniment, with enough presence to fill plenty of sonic space on its own.
The spruce top provides attack and dynamics. The back and sides are made from Brazilian rosewood-pattern HPL. This construction makes the guitar less sensitive to changes in humidity and temperature than an all-solid-wood instrument, making it particularly suitable for travelling, stage use or regular everyday playing.
The PA-profile neck has a relatively modern feel for a 12-string, while the cutaway provides easier access to the upper frets.
The Martin E-1 electronics allow the guitar to be plugged directly into an amplifier, PA system or audio interface. Controls are kept simple, with volume, tone and phase, plus a built-in chromatic tuner.
