The Dowina The Climber Vincent Schmidt Signature is an acoustic guitar built in collaboration with and to Vincent Schmidt's specifications. Versatile, comfortable, and meticulously crafted, it was designed as a musical tool capable of meeting the demands of modern fingerstyle as well as more traditional playing. It combines woods selected for their tonal qualities, an ideal body shape to adapt to different playing styles, and an environmentally conscious, handcrafted approach.
Vincent is a demanding musician, deeply committed to acoustic sound, touch, and musicality. His world, primarily focused on fingerstyle, requires extremely responsive, precise, and balanced instruments. His collaboration with Dowina arose naturally from a shared vision: to create a guitar that truly serves the music, without compromise. Vincent's signature guitar, named "The Climber," is therefore the result of this collaborative work. It was designed as a versatile musical tool, capable of meeting the demands of modern fingerstyle as well as more traditional playing.
The Gold Orchestra body shape offers an excellent balance between comfort and projection. The Swiss walnut back and sides add warmth and depth to the overall sound. The walnut softens the brightness of the spruce while enhancing the midrange, resulting in a rich, warm tone that's equally suited to accompaniment and soloing. The neck feels comfortable in the hand, with an open-pore finish that allows the wood to breathe and provides a natural feel. The dense, smooth ebony fingerboard facilitates fast playing while offering excellent durability.
Like all Dowina guitars, this model is crafted with meticulous attention to durability and respect for materials. The woods are carefully selected, and the craftsmanship is impeccable. It's a splendid guitar that responds well to playing dynamics, produces a rich sound, and is comfortable to hold. This guitar is designed to be as inspiring as it is effective, with exceptional sensitivity to playing nuances.
