This amp is a hand-built gem from Belgium, built around a clear ambition that has been fully realised: delivering a US/Fender-style voicing with the warmth and sag reminiscent of early-60s Silverface models. It offers what one might technically call enormous clean headroom, and naturally serves as an excellent pedal platform. The compact chassis houses meticulous work: clean wiring, high-grade components, and a finish inspired by classic American combos.
This 50W version focuses on a wide, stable clean that easily forms the base of a demanding pedalboard. The preamp blends 12AX7 and 12AT7 valves for a lively, controlled response, while the 2× 6L6 power section provides remarkable firmness even at moderate volume. In playing terms, the amp is highly responsive. The grain stays clear and full, and the dynamics follow the touch faithfully. The full EQ, bright switch and master allow the amp to be placed in any context: deep clean jazz, sharp pop, or tight rock with an external overdrive. The spring reverb, controlled by dwell and mix, adds natural depth without washing out the attack.
Pushed or paired with pedals, The One 50 takes on a slight 6L6-driven compression, close to a modern Fender but with more urgency. It keeps definition with both single-coils and humbuckers, making it versatile without losing its identity. The adjustable effects loop integrates delays, external reverbs or more complex units cleanly, and the switchable impedance allows use with various cabinets.
