Synergy Tone King Imperial Preamp Module

This module faithfully translates the spirit of the Tone King Imperial MKII into the Synergy ecosystem. The approach is clearly feel-driven: wide, luminous American clean tones on one channel, and a thicker, more expressive lead channel on the other, with the natural compression and depth associated with well-driven vintage combos. The aim is not neutrality, but a strong, lively personality that remains fully usable at controlled volume.

The design goes beyond a standard preamp. The module integrates Zero Watt Poweramp technology, with a phase inverter circuit directly inspired by the Imperial MKII. This section recreates the behaviour of the power stage, its bloom and its breathing, even when running direct or at low volume. The elastic response typical of classic American amplifiers is preserved without relying on a high-powered combo.

The Rhythm channel delivers a wide, bright and highly responsive Blackface-style clean, ideal for arpeggios, chord work or as a pedal platform. The Lead channel moves toward a denser, mid-rich Tweed-style crunch, capable of everything from warm break-up to assertive rock drive. The Mid-Bite control fine-tunes the very structure of the overdrive, from round American voicing to a tighter, more biting register. The analogue bias-modulated tremolo, assignable per channel, adds an extra layer of organic movement true to vintage reference amps.
