The IICP is a very faithful reinterpretation of the Mesa Boogie Mark IIC+, designed to recapture what made this amplifier iconic: extreme dynamics, a highly structuring midrange, and a unique ability to move from surgical clean tones to dense, singing saturated leads. In the Synergy format, the goal is not to soften or modernise the sound, but to preserve the strong personality that defined a large part of 1980s hard rock and melodic metal, while keeping it fully usable in a contemporary rig.
The architecture is built around two clearly distinct channels. The Clean channel draws from the early "Fullerton" roots of the first Mark amps, delivering a precise, bright tone that can remain very clean or tip into light crunch by working the volume and the Brite and Shift switches. The Lead channel highlights the famous Mark gain cascade: progressive saturation, natural compression and abundant sustain, without ever losing attack definition. Both channels share a full EQ section and a global presence control, maintaining tonal coherence between clean and lead sounds.
At the heart of the module is the five-band graphic EQ, the true sonic signature of the Mark series. Paired with the Auto Assign system, it can be applied to the lead channel only or to both channels, depending on the setup. Midrange shaping, especially around the 750 Hz band, allows transitions from a deeply scooped, modern tone to a denser, more forward sound in the mix. Automatic cathode profile management per channel ensures that each mode delivers the correct grain and response, with no hidden adjustments or compromises. The IICP stands out as a precise, demanding, yet highly rewarding module for guitarists who enjoy shaping their tone in depth.
