A faithful tribute to one of the most sought-after and elusive amps in guitar history, the Overdrive Special module brings the spirit of the Dumble Overdrive Special into the Synergy modular format. It offers a sonic palette that combines clarity, depth and rich harmonic saturation, while preserving the dynamic response and articulation that define the original.
The two channels are independent and footswitchable. The clean channel delivers highly detailed, mid-forward tones with exceptional sensitivity to picking dynamics. The overdrive channel builds into a thick, round saturation, always musical and fluid, perfect for lyrical leads, modern blues or fusion.
The active EQ section (Bass, Mid, Treble) is paired with overdrive-specific controls: OD Level (amount of gain) and OD Ratio (clean/drive balance). The Bright, Deep, and Rock/Jazz switches shape the overall response, tighter and more aggressive, fuller and rounder, or smoother and more restrained, depending on your setup and preferences. The Cathode Select (3-way) switch adjusts how the module interacts with the power stage, letting you tailor the feel to your rig or playing style.
