Especially known for attracting shredders and metalheads thanks to its ultra-thin necks, floating vibratos and 7, 8 and 9 (!) strings guitars, Ibanez has established itself as THE Japanese export brand. Founded in 1957 in Nagoya, Japan, Ibanez began by producing copies of the american brands such as Fender, Gibson and Rickenbacker, before creating its own. But it was in the 80's that the brand set itself as a staple of the rock and metal landscape, by signing virtuosos such as Joe Satriani or Steve Vai, and established itself as a reference when it comes to superstrats.
The Steve Vai Signature JEM electric guitar has been a top seller for Ibanez since its debut in the late 1980s. It's become an icon among musicians who value musical performance and outstanding aesthetic style.
The JEM77P is a beautiful take on the JEM with a maple fingerboard, creating an almost traditional vibe for a Super Strat, with all the JEM features (monkey bar, floral pattern). The HSH construction and routing are also the same, and the DiMarzio Gravity Storm pickups are precise and sharp. The playing comfort is huge: everything is easy to execute and sounds clear. The Edge Zero II floating locking vibrato is comfortable and discreet, and holds the tuning perfectly.
