Gibson has forever inscribed his name in the guitar's pantheon, from jazz to rock, blues to metal. Founded in 1894 by Orville H. Gibson in Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA, the company revolutionized the guitar world with innovations such as the humbuckers or the Flying V, Explorer, and Firebird shapes. With ambassadors ranging from Charlie Christian to Slash, through Tommi Iommi and, of course, Lester Polfus, Gibson has traveled through the ages and musical styles and has established itself as a leading brand of electric and acoustic guitar.

The VOS (Vintage Original Spec) line is a Custom Shop production that carefully recreates the brand's historical models. It uses the specifications and components (wood, electronics, etc.) specific to this time. The guitars are carefully designed to offer instruments of exceptional quality, faithful to their origins, and that provide the same sensations as a guitar produced at the time, which would have been played and carefully maintained throughout that time.

This Les Paul Standard '59 Historic Select offers a version of this legendary instrument in a beautiful Dirty Ice Tea finish. The mahogany body is topped by a flamed AAA maple top with an exceptionally refined bookmatched stripe pattern. The resonance is powerful, and the quality of the wood is evident in the relatively lightweight instrument overall. The mahogany neck is glued with a long tenon joint, which ensures optimal vibration transmission. This enhances the natural sustain of this design even more. The '59 profile fills the hand well without overflowing. It imposes itself without preventing you from flying away as soon as you want to increase your solos' velocity.

Custombuckers are round and powerful, and the output level of the bridge pickup is very well balanced with the neck. There's no need to adjust the volume when going from frantic beats to frenzied leads, live or in the studio. The guitar construction generates present and defined bass, rich midrange, and harmonics-laden highs. The instrument is highly responsive to attack dynamics and pot settings and provides a warm and comfortable playing feel that you won't find anywhere else. All the details that made the original a legend are skillfully reproduced here to offer an absolutely convincing vintage playing experience.
