Gibson has forever written his name into the guitar pantheon, from jazz to rock to blues to metal. Founded in 1894 by Orville H. Gibson in Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA, the company revolutionized the world of the guitar with technical and aesthetic innovations such as the humbuckers or the Flying V, Explorer and Firebird shapes. With ambassadors ranging from Charlie Christian to Slash, through Tommi Iommi and, of course, Lester Polfus, Gibson has travelled through the ages and musical styles, and has established itself as a leading brand in electric and acoustic guitar.

The VOS (Vintage Original Spec) range is a Custom Shop production that carefully recreates the brand's historic models, strictly respecting the specifications and selecting all the components (wood, electronics, etc.) and aging them lightly and meticulously in order to offer instruments of exceptional quality, faithful to their origins and providing sensations identical to what a guitar produced at the time would be like, that would not have been played, and carefully maintained during all that time.

This model recreates the 1960 Les Paul, with a mahogany body, flamed maple top and a delightful Faded Iced Tea finish. The first thing that strikes you when you pick it up is that it's lightweight... and sounds great, even before you plug it in. The neck has an early 60's profile, much thinner than the 50's models, which fits very well in the hand, and allows for fast playing, especially if you want to increase the velocity of your solo.

Then as soon as it's plugged into a good amp, the rosewood fingerboard and mahogany neck glued to the body with a long tenon provide impressive roundness and sustain, with present but defined bass, rich mids, and harmonics-laden highs, while the Custom Buckers pair sounds creamy as expected. All the details that made the original a legend are skillfully reproduced to provide an absolutely convincing vintage playing experience.
