Founded in the late 1970s by the late Bill Collings in Texas, Collings Guitars is the flagship of American manufacturing. While the brand now uses modern manufacturing processes, it makes no compromises: every element is carefully selected and every detail is given special attention, so much so that the quality of the models produced systematically exceeds that of the most renowned Custom Shops.

We've tried guitars, but never one like this. The overall impression, the quality in the woods, the finesse in the details, from the bridge to the mechanics and the assembly (up to the type of glue used) are breathtaking. It's a Martin D28 like Martin doesn't make any more: an exceptional guitar, which provides playing sensations of incredible ease and delivers a pure, deep and powerful sound, beyond anything we've ever known.

Let's first look at the technical details: a solid Adirondack top with ultra-tight grain, East Indian rosewood back and sides, a Honduran mahogany neck, and a rare density ebony fingerboard. The bridge is also made of ebony, and is particularly resistant to tension, thus maintaining impeccable tuning even after hours of playing. The bone saddles add to the overall effect, allowing for great precision in tuning and perfect intonation.

The neck has a profile that changes according to where you play: at the top it is D-shaped, at the bottom it is V-shaped, and the compensated radius adds to the comfort you feel from the very first moments. Indeed, this geometry makes it very easy for the hand to find the ideal position to fret the strings according to the type of playing. Thanks to this hybrid profile, low chords do not tighten the thumb and high notes do not tire the wrist.

The tone is absolutely royal. The varnish is very fine, and allows the woods to breathe, which you can hear immediately: the mid-range notes are particularly rich, the basses are well defined, and the trebles, present, remain soft. The only disadvantage of this guitar is that there is no other guitar that can compete with it, and once you play it and hear what it sounds like, it's hard to appreciate anything else.

It comes in a case that does justice to the quality of manufacture and elegance of the instrument, and is guaranteed for 2 years in our workshop.
