Especially known for attracting shredders and metalheads thanks to its ultra-thin necks, floating vibratos and 7, 8 and 9 (!) strings guitars, Ibanez has established itself as THE Japanese export brand. Founded in 1957 in Nagoya, Japan, Ibanez began by producing copies of the american brands such as Fender, Gibson and Rickenbacker, before creating its own. But it was in the 80's that the brand set itself as a staple of the rock and metal landscape, by signing virtuosos such as Joe Satriani or Steve Vai, and established itself as a reference when it comes to superstrats.

The Ibanez SR405E gives all the flurry of Ibanez sensations: playing ease, punchy tone, great finish. An elegant five-piece neck, with rosewood fingerboard ad a curved mahogany body topped with a superb piece of maple are all excellent things there. As for the tone, it comes from two flexible Ibanez PowerSpan humbuckers, controlled by a 3-band EQ. A safe bet.
