Established in 1881, the famous F. Lorée company is the oldest oboe manufacturer  still in activity. This respected maker has introduced in 1992 a range of more affordable student instruments under the Cabart brand name. This range is totally manufactured in France and is recognized for its exceptional quality- price ratio.

The Cabart PM ( for small hands) features a simplified Conservatoire system which is dedicated to children. In order to make the instrument lighter and adapted to a young beginner's smaller hands, a few non essential keys have been removed from the original Conservatoire keywork. This compromise is of lesser importance taking into consideration the overall 100g weightloss. This simplified, but definitely more ergonomic design is far from being a handicap.

Bell and body are from solid grenadilla wood. The model sports a silver plated keywork and features a left hand double F key and a semi-automatic double octave key.

The playing range is limited to the low B and the instrument's thumb-rest is fully adjustable. This oboe is a musical and mechanical work of art. Very durable, it has a great resale value and with proper maintenance can be transferred to many small hands to come !
