Since 1887, Yamaha's initial vocation was - and still is -to produce high quality musical instruments. As an evidence is their trademark logo, which represents three intercrossed tuning forks that adorn every item the group produces. For the last 130 years, the maker never stopped innovating in each field (string instruments, brass and woodwinds, keyboards, percussions and electronics).

Their first acoustic folk guitars were produced in the sixties. The maker therefore pertinently knows that a quality instrument substantially improves when aging and has undertaken a complete study to establish what those age-enhanced tonal characteristics were. And now with that knowledge, Yamaha has taken the next step to create a way to accelerate that aging process so that new tonewoods can also have that sweet, vintage like instrument voice. They name this revolutionary wood reforming technology Acoustic Resonance Enhancement (A.R.E.). Within a short period of time, new wood matured with this technology produces a tonal richness like that of weel-used vintage instruments. A.R.E. technology uses specialized equipment that precisely controls temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure. But best of all it uses no chemicals in the treatment process.

Being the most affordable model of the A.R.E. range, the LJ6 features a mini-jumbo body platform. Sporting a cutaway and a high quality transducer, this guitar delivers a well balanced and powerfull sound both unplugged or conected to a dedicated amp. A rather universal instrument that will appeal to the most discriminating amateur looking for the best on a tight budget. As a bonus, the guitar is supplied with a semi-solid back-pack gig-bag.

This instrument is warranted 2 years by our workshop.
