For many enthusiasts, C.F. Martin & Co. has been creating the finest instruments in the world for over 180 years. It continues to innovate, introducing techniques and features that have become industry standards, including X-bracing, the 14-fret guitar and the "Dreadnought" size. One of the world's leading acoustic instruments makers, Martin guitars are hand made by skilled craftsmen, who use a combination of new designs and techniques, along with those introduced by the company founder. Martin guitars are the instruments of choice for musicians around the world, from icons of rock, pop, country, folk and bluegrass to those just beginning their carreer. They can be seen across all segments of pop culture, from television to movies, small clubs and festivals, books, online, and gracing the covers of popular magazines news stands everywhere. According to Martin's catalog, the new models reflect a desire to "meet the challenges faced by musicians by introducing austere models, devoid of fantasy, but certainly not lacking expertise and excellent tone." The 00L17 is a 14 frets guitar with slightly trimmer dimensions than those of its sister, the 00017, and similar finishes. It boasts a Sitka spruce top with mahogany back and sides with ivoroid binding to the top. And wit hits Black Smoke finish, it would seduce even a saint.

Subject to Martin's "enhanced playability" system, the 00L17's frets undergo computer-aided fine-tuning. The guitar neck sits well in the hand, with none of the clubbiness associated with some vintage models. At home in all registers, it delivers tons of power with Martin's distinct tone, and still reveals the subtle nuances of your playing style.
