Founded in 1985 in Stevensville, Maryland, USA, PRS Guitars (named after its founder, luthier Paul Reed Smith), immediately took up the challenge of designing and producing guitars that meet the challenge of offering instruments with uncompromising sound versatility, exceptional playing comfort, and the highest level of beauty and craftsmanship. With models like the McCarthy and the Custom 24, PRS Guitars has made a sensational debut in the world of guitar, dominating today by marrying the qualities of the Stratocaster (vibrato, crystal clear sound, soft bass, comfort of the game) and the Les Paul (creamy crunch, mediums affirmed, endless sustain and luxurious finishes), adding a character of its own.
A new version of the McCarty model, the PRS McCarty 594 elegantly combines the elements of a vintage instrument with a decidedly modern design. The mahogany body, mounted with a flamed maple top, and the mahogany set neck with a rosewood fingerboard, all carefully selected and finely assembled, offer a resonance that left us speechless. Taken in hand, this beauty offers breathtaking playing comfort, thanks to its asymmetrical Vintage Pattern neck. Tone-wise, the pair of splittable humbuckers gives its happy owner the whole range of electric guitar tones: clean tones that are round and enveloping or full of brillance, creamy or piercing crunches, and high gain saturations are all accessible through the 58/15 LT pickups. At ease in all registers, this guitar leaves nothing to desire.
