Music Man history begins in the early 70's, when Leo Fender, just off the Company he founded 5 years ago, starts to think that his future might be a new Company called Music Man. Tireless worker, Leo kicks off his new activity in 1972 by building is first instrument, a new bass, obviously. It is the beginning of Music Man bass. There will be amps, electric guitars, etc. Relying on 20 years of experience, Leo builds awesome instruments, and amongst them the active Sting Ray bass, that shortly after its introduction becomes an absolute reference in the music world.

Everyone knows Steve Lukather, Toto guitarist, but also session man whose crazy licks and robust rhythms are present on probably a third of the albums released in the US between 1980 and 2000. The Luke is one of the flagship instruments in Ernie Ball Music Man's lineup for qualities that go well beyond the signature side. The body is superbly comfortable, from the contours that make it a pleasure to hold to the silky smooth finish. The neck is a highway, yet has that almost imperceptible resistance of vintage instruments. Sound-wise, the Luke III features a pair of Music Man Custom Wound humbuckers, which are ultimately very malleable in grain, as they can be tuned to achieve vintage tones, as well as modern ones.
